Over fifty years ago, Lou Read's love of automobiles
began when his neighbor gave him his first car. He spent countless hours taking it apart and putting it back together
figuring out exactly what made it tick. As he got older and began working in his father's junkyard,
his knowledge of cars continued to grow. In 1967, Lou bought his first true collectible, a 1934 Packard that his still owns and
gradually grew to the impressive fleet he owns with his sons Shaun and Bobby today. Lou is constantly travelling up
and down the East Coast in search of the next great collectible or restoration project at many different car
shows and can always be found at our local cruise nights. His love and passion for automobiles is apparent once
stepping foot into one of the Antique Car Barn's garages...they are truly history preserved.
As a
child, Shaun was always at his Father's side tagging along to all the car shows and cruises. Always inquisitve,
his love of cars started at a young age and by eight could name any antique and classic car by make and model. Following
in his Father's footsteps, his dedication to the antique and classic car comminuty is impressive. Wanting to share
his love of cars with others, the Antique Car Barn's wedding and event business is flourishing. Shaun will gladly
give you a lesson and a story on all the cars in the garages before he takes you for a spin!
Although he is on
the West Coast, Bobby still lends a helping hand to the Antique Car Barn. He is our eyes and ears in California, seeking
out the next project.
